Churros

"Mommy, can I have that?", I asked. From the rotary display, the lady behind the counter unhook one of the "long stick" from the display and placed it in a pit of cinnamon sugar. Wrapping a paper around the "stick", the lady handed it to me. "Enjoy your churro!", she said cheerfully. I stared at it in amusement. It was a long fried dough of some sort with raggeder edges along the sides. Under that thin wrapper, I could feel the crispiness of it. Looking at it made me salivate. When I finally took my first bite, the cripsyness of the churros was so inviting. And the centre of the churros was so tender. Ugh.. This... this is food porn. While it prance and bounce tantalizingly on my tongue, the subtle cinnamon flavor brought this snack to a whole new level. And the coarse sugar used gave it an extra crunch. God! That was good.

Since then, when someone mention about churros, I can mentally "taste" it. (FYI: I was about 8 or 9 when I first had them.)
Lately, I have been craving for some churros. I know that churros can be found all over the streets of Spain. However, here in Singapore, We can only savor churros in Spanish restaurants. So.. after weeks of subduing my cravings for churros, I finally gave in. Dragged my lazy ass to the kitchen, and decided to give churros a try. BEST DECISION I have done all week. Seriously.. It is so easy to make.
